Try the “AYRE Irrational But Efficacious v. 1.2” cd. Works great to clear up grunge and noise in electronics and speakers. I think it probably acts to demagnetize equipment and soften speaker surrounds. Just need to run it one pass at moderate level....

The electrolytic capacitors in the woofer low pass circuit are certainly dead. They look perfectly normal when old, just lose capacity in a serious way. The NS1000 had ferrite magnets that don't need remagnetization....
